Thank you for all of the love and support this little corner of the internet has received over the past several years. As friends and family members were getting married, their weddings fueled the inspiration for this blog. But as seasons of life change, my focus, along with those nearest and dearest, shifted away from the wedding planning stage and I began to neglect this blog.

I have decided to indefinitely retire Calligraphy by Shannon in an effort to pour my attention into my lifestyle blog The Scribble Pad where I will be merging past and future inspiration boards and parties. You will still be able to place orders for calligraphy, custom invitations, and hand stamped items through my etsy shop. And as always, you can stay in touch with me under my moniker, The Scribble Pad on my blog, etsy shop, facebook, and even twitter! I look forward to sharing this new adventure with you.

Wedding Announcement Keepsake

In planning a wedding, many of the memorable paper products get tossed eventually. From announcements that hit the news paper, save the dates that ship out in the mail to personalized napkins that get soggy and crumpled.
All of these paper products are wonderful and worth saving or framing, but here is an idea that will surely hang on your wall for years to come:

I stumbled upon these works of art while visiting withTWOcats and immediately fell in love with all things "Grace Hester Designs" on etsy. But now that I am expecting...my eye is drawn to the fabulous birth announcements!

I cannot wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl, let alone learn all the details of my little one's arrival!

Vote for The Cutest Couple!

The Today Show is once again hosting their Modern Love contest. A blog reader has asked us all to go ahead and vote for her friends, Couple #4, Genevieve & David. Here is their story:

A native of Dublin, Ireland, David McKay, 23, came to the United States on a soccer scholarship five years ago. While at Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss., David met Pennsylvania-born Genevieve Tallarico, 25, in anatomy and physiology class “of all places.” The two studied together and before they knew it they were “studying each other and … both getting an A.” David is now pursing his dream of becoming a professional soccer fitness coach and Genevieve is a ballet dancer who has worked to provide underprivileged children with ballet classes.

After four years of dating, David and Genevieve are engaged, living in Orlando, and hoping to make the grade by scoring a TODAY wedding.

The Eastern Shore of Maryland

We spent the gorgeous weekend on the Eastern Shore of Maryland visiting Mark's parents and making way for baby. Yes, I am pregnant!

Nothing gets better than the fresh air of the Chesapeake Bay and crabs! Well, except for unbelievable weddings! Check out this fabulous wedding held at the Inn at Perry Cabin (where the wedding crashers was filmed) in St. Michaels, MD:
